Why Theia exists
Because I’m tired of disaster survivors being taken advantage of.
After losing my home in the Eaton Fire, I learned firsthand how overwhelming and predatory recovery can be.
Running PostFire, California’s leading fire recovery navigation nonprofit, I watched neighbors lose hundreds of thousands to fraud, stolen contractor licenses, and unqualified builders.
I created Theia to change that.
Theia brings survivors together to negotiate as one massive customer base—the more of us there are, the better deals we all get.
We partner with vetted companies to tackle the obstacles of recovery, starting with rebuilding.
Philanthropy can’t close everyone’s budget gaps. Lower prices and honest builders can.
Welcome to the family.
